The small countersunk head creates a lower-profile installation than a dome-head rivet nut, making it useful where reduced head projection is preferred.

Installed using a suitable rivet nut tool, the rivet nut is inserted through a prepared hole and compressed into position, creating a permanent threaded fixing point without requiring access to the rear of the workpiece.
